What do you do the day before brain surgery?
According to Bridget, you:
1) Have a lunch of homemade waffles draped in homemade rhubarb sauce.
2) Work on a Seattle puzzle.
3) Go for a relaxing walk around lovely Queen Anne.
That's our day so far in a nutshell. Bridget is doing well, and is surprisingly non-freaked out right now. Bridget's Mom is going to be here in a few hours, which will be nice. The plan is to relax all the way to bedtime.
Just a few minutes ago we received our official schedule for tomorrow - well, not really a schedule, but some timing info. Bridget's surgery is going to be the first surgery of the day, and so we'll be checking in at 5:30 am tomorrow morning. So hopefully this means we get everyone at their morning best!
We are feeling so lucky to have all of the prayers, well wishes, and positive vibes beamed our way over the last few days. Thank you all! Keep them coming for the rest of today and through tomorrow.
There once was a Bridget out west
ReplyDeleteWhose brain will soon be the best.
She had waffles and puzzles
and rhubarb sauce guzzles,
then went to bed ready for rest.
I hope you sleep well...all the best tomorrow!!!!!!!!
How long does the surgery itself take?
ReplyDeleteHi Elaine - we have been told the surgery should take between 4 and 5 hours, but that is just an estimate.
ReplyDeleteMeredith: excellent prose!
Looking forward to hearing what one eats the day after brain surgery next! Really soon. In the meantime, sending love to you all.
